President William Ruto announced that FC Bayern Munich (Germany) will face AFC Ajax (Netherlands) on 5 January 2027 to officially open the new Raila Odinga International Stadium (formerly Talanta Stadium) in Nairobi.
The 60,000-seater stadium is a key venue for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania).
Both clubs have confirmed the friendly match.
Tickets go on sale from 5 November 2026 via talantasportscity.com.
The private sector is funding the fixture. Bayern described it as a special match to kick off the new year, while Ajax called it a major event for East African football.
